Beginning Quilting Part One



Saturday,  11:30am - 2:30pm
This is a class for True Beginners and is Part One of a series of beginning quilt classes for 2026.

We will start at the very beginning.  We'll help you understand the differences between patchwork, appliqué, whole cloth, traditional and modern quilts.
We will give you the vocabulary to help you understand quilt pattern instructions.
We will teach you about fabric and how to choose fabrics, colors and prints that will enhance your quilt and best fit your design.
We will go over the essential tools, needles and threads, rulers and cutters; everything you need to set you up for success.
We will teach you how to use quilting rulers and how to use a rotary cutter.
Focus techniques for Part one will include sewing straight, the 1/4" seam, and good pressing.

No need to bring a machine this time.  Sewing will be done on our machines for this class.

A fabric Jelly Roll of will be needed for the "assignment" project.  These can be purchased at the time of class.
